GUIDELINES FOR APPLICATION FOR THE COMMONWEALTH OF DOMINICA CITIZENSHIP

Document Screening

Collection of Checklist Document

Submission of Application and Due Diligence Fees
At this stage, the application is submitted alongside the diligence fees.

Diligence Report and Government Decision
The due diligence report is sent to the government for a check. Based on the
information in the report, the government will decide to grant the application or decline it. The applicant will be invited to the donation if the application is approved.

Issuance of Certificate and Passport
The applicant will be issued a citizenship certificate and passport ID when all
verifications are done. Then the balance of the professional fees will be settled.

Costs for The Commonwealth of Dominica Citizenship

Two options are made open for individuals interested in applying for the Commonwealth of Dominica Citizenship. Any of these two is compulsory:
1. Donation (EDF)
A donation to the Economic Diversification Fund is required.

Main Applicant and Spouse – USD 175,000
Main Applicant, Spouse, and 2 Children Below 18 – USD 200,000
Each additional dependent – USD 25,000

2. Real Estate
Investment in one of the government-approved real estate projects in any of these classes: hotel shares, freehold property with title deed, partial ownership, or land.

Minimum Investment – USD 200,000

3.Government Fees
There are some mandated government fees to be settled apart from buying real estate:

Single Applicant – USD 100,000
Main applicant – USD 25,000
Main Applicant and spouse – USD 35,000
A family of up to 4 people – USD 35,000
A family of up to 6 people – USD 50,000
A family of at least 7 people or more – USD 70,000

Due Diligence & Investigations

Some necessary background investigations are payable to the government choice due diligence agency using Interpol, World-Check, and international government agencies to assist in screening applicants according to their application information.

Main applicant – USD 7,500
Spouse – USD 4,000
Dependents over 16 years – USD 4,000
Processing Fee (per application) – USD 1,000
Certificate of naturalization fee including stamp fee – USD 250
Cost of the expedited process for the passport (per passport) – USD 1,200

*It should be noted that all applicants above the age of 16 must pass through diligence checks. Any unsuccessful file will be refunded to the applicant. However, if the file is successful, the funds will be passed as payment to the Dominica government.

Dependents

Ages 18 to 30 are fully dependent. So far, they are dependent on the main applicant and schooling full-time.

Parents above the age of 55 are dependent on the applicant. Notwithstanding, our professional fees, certificate of Citizenship, passport, official application forms, and other disbursements are the only charges inclusive of the cost. PROGRAM DURATION

The duration of 6 months is the specified timeframe for the application process. However, the initial duration of document collection could be a bit longer depending on how fast the applicant provides the required documents. The duration of the renewal stage depends on the availability of the agency that would handle it. We have no regulation over this particular process. However, we assure you that we work with the best Government agencies to hasten the entire process and make our client (applicant) get quick approval.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS & LEGAL GROUNDWORK

  • Reside in the country for 5 days within 5 years of initiating the application
QUALIFIED DEPENDENTS
  • Spouse of the applicant
  • Biological or adopted adult children below the age of 28
  • Dependent parents

*Note that parents and children above 18 are dependent on the applicant.

Legal Groundwork

According to Section 101 of the Constitution and Sections 8 and 20 (1) of the
Citizenship Act, the regulations were published. This Act states that individuals who have stayed in Dominica for five (5) years could apply for naturalization. This same individual may be qualified for citizenship. So far, the criteria for citizenship are met.

Applicants with criminal traces will be declined the second citizenship in Dominica. In addition, every applicant must be at the minimum age of 18, with good conduct, and are open to investing in the Commonwealth of Dominica.

The Dominica Economic Citizenship Program has been legalized and based on the law since it was launched in 1993. The Commonwealth of Dominica citizenship may not be revoked. It is for a lifetime, regardless of updates of administrations or the country’s government policy.
