- In 2016, Malta started accepting applications for Maltese Residency by Investment. Eligibility requirements for applicants include 18 years and above, good health conditions, and without any trace of criminality on record. Furthermore, applicants are expected to invest in the economy of Malta, lease or purchase a property in the same country, and invest in government bonds or stocks.

GUIDELINES FOR PERMENANT RESIDENCY IN MALTA
1. Document Screening
We assist you in screening your document in preparation for government approval.
2. Down Payment
For this process to go smoothly, applicants are expected to make a down payment for opening the application.
3. Collection of Documents & Filing of Forms
We guide and advise our applicants on the needed document for processing the Malta Visa application. Also, assisting in completing the government form.
4. Secure Investment
We help applicants get the Malta property that meets the Government’s required investment for a residency permit. Begin the property purchase or rental documents. We will need the purchase document to kickstart the application for Residency.
5. Verification of Documents and Payment of Administrative Fees
At this stage, all the requested documents are submitted with the application for Government verification. Applicant must pay the sum of EUR 5,000 to cover the cost. This payment is part of the one-time administrative fees.
6. Approval of Application
After the Government has investigated the application, they should either grant the request or decline it or ask for other documents before coming to a final decision.
7. Approval Letter
The Government will send an approval letter if the application is successful.
8. Payment of Balance Administrative Fees
Applicants would be requested to pay the remaining part of the administrative fee. In addition, the applicants would need to invest in bonds and rent or buy a property in Malta. We will assist you in preparing a purchase or rent document to complete your purchase.
9. Trip to Malta
The applicant must travel down to Malta for biometric data submission. A Permanent Residency Card in Malta is approved for 5 years with a renewal possibility.
10. Issuance of Residency Cards
At the end of every activity, we will send the residency cards to the applicants through courier. This will take place as soon as your professional fees have been settled.
Applicants would be free to sell their bonds in 5 years. You will no longer be responsible for maintenance costs on the property and, if needed, end the rental contract or put the Maltese property on sale.
*Granting a Maltese Residence permit is the ultimate decision of the Maltese Government.
Applications could be denied if, after investigation, it is discovered that the applicant has submitted falsified documents or wrong statement on the forms; is under a criminal investigation or engaged in a criminal act, or is associated with any activity that would soil the reputation of Malta.
COST OF MALTA PERMANENT RESIDENCY
An investment requirement is necessary for an individual applying for the Permanent Residency Program. The applicant must either purchase or rent a property (s) and invest in government bonds.
1) Real Estate
Rent or purchase a property in Malta and hold it for a minimum of 5 years
Minimum amount – EUR 320,000
Minimum amount – EUR 270,000*
* for properties in Gozo – the south of Malta
Minimum rent per annum – EUR 12,000
Minimum rent per annum – EUR 10,000*

2) Investment
Invite in government bonds and hold for at least 5 years.
Amount EUR 250,000
Non Refundable Government Donation – EUR 30,000
PROGRAM DURATION
The Permanent Residency in Malta application duration is expected to take 6 months. The first stage is the collection of every necessary document. This process can be faster if the applicant gets the required documents on time. We use professional guidelines and samples to help applicants through this stage.
However, applicants should note that the evaluation stage is dependent on the Government’s schedule, which we have no regulation over. We join efforts with the authority in charge through the whole procedure, ensuring we get our clients (applicant) approval for Residency as soon as possible.

LEGAL GROUNDWORK
Qualified applicants and their families may be offered full Maltese Permanent Residency based on the amendment passed in November 2013 to the Maltese Citizenship Act, Chapter 188 of the Laws of Malta. Applicants are expected to contribute their quota to the development of Malta’s economy and provide proof of title of the property in Malta and proof of 1-year residence in Malta.
